Who Would Win A Fight Between...? #1

This is my first Who Would Win A Fight Between..? article. Hopefully the first of many. This is mainly because they’re easy to write and make good filler for when I haven’t been drawing comics.

Let’s take a look at our combatants, shall we?

First up we’ve got the ol’ Alfer AKA Gordan Shumway. Alf is from the planet Melmac. He’s little and furry, and Fucking hilarious.

Pros/Cons:
Alf was in the Melmacian Orbit guard, so he has some military training. Having said that, Alf was probably the shitest Orbit Guard ever so his training probably wouldn’t count for much. Also going against the Alfmeister is: he’s fat, lazy, and pretty stupid.

Next up we’ve got Wicket W. Warrick the Ewok. Ewoks are a race little hunter-gatherer teddy bears that live on the forest moon of Endor.

Pros/Cons:
Ewoks are tenacious little fighters. They beat a whole invasion force of Imperial troops with stone age weaponry! Seriously, could you take down an AT-ST walker with a bunch of sticks and rocks? You couldn’t! You know you couldn’t, so shut up! On the negative side, they live in trees like furry little hippies.

Here’s how it goes down:
In an alternate time line, instead of crashing into the Tanner garage, Alf crashes his space ship into the Ewok village. The Ewoks take Alf in and he lives with them cracking wise and breaking stuff. After a while the Ewoks get the shits with Alf eating all their food and breaking all their sticks and bird skulls.

Finally it comes to a head and Wicket throws down a formal challenge. In his teddy bear gibberish Wicket says,. “quit breaking all our stuff and eating all our food or we’re gonna rumble!”
“Yo Wickster! What the fuck did you just say,” Alf replies.
Wicket, not understanding what Alf is saying, takes it as an insult and comes in swinging.

Wicket opens with a flurry of little teddy bear haymakers. Alf is taken by surprise and retreats from Wicket’s cute little onslaught. Wicket keeps coming landing blow after blow. Alf screams, “not the face! Not the face!” as he trips and falls on his back.

Now Wicket lays the boot in. Breaking ribs, and rupturing many of Alf’s stomachs. Alf is now a bleeding groaning mess on the forest floor. Wicket grabs a nearby rock and caves Alfs skull in with it.

The Ewoks celebrate Wicket’s great victory by throwing a big party and cooking Alf’s carcass on a spit. After they’ve eaten Alf, Wicket is given Alf’s skull as a trophy.

The End.

Ok, it was a pretty one sided fight, but Ewoks WILL fuck you up if you try and scrap ‘em. And anyway, this was just a cheap excuse to show off my awesome toys...

Launch: Fail!

Last Thursday was the launch for Garbage Truck Failures, Kagemono, Everything Ends In Tears, and supposedly Yuck! #2.

It was held at Loop. Possibly the worst bar in the existence of bars anywhere in the world ever. I could write a whole post on how ridiculously gay Loop is, and I may well do one day, but let's just leave it at - I'M NEVER EVER GOING BACK THERE.

So I put on my best cowboy shirt and moseyed on down to the launch. Things looked promising when I got there with the books covers projected on a big screen at the back of the bar. All the covers looked shit hot on the big screen.

After knocking back a few cold ones - of shit beer, because they only had shit beer at this shit place - it was time for the speeches.

The MC - didn't catch his name - was great. He knew his stuff, and took time to write cool intros about the creators of each title. My only problem with his MCing was, for some unknown reason he kept on saying he had more stuff to say, quotes from the books and the like, but he didn't have enough time. Why didn't you have enough time MC? There wasn't anyone standing there with a shot gun and stopwatch telling you to get on with it. The speeches in their entirety couldn't have gone for more than ten minutes at the most. Why no time? Why?

Then each creator would get up and said thanks, and what not, for about five seconds then ran back into the crowd. Shot gun-stop watch man earned his keep that night.

Then for some reason Yuck! #2 wasn't even mentioned. At all. That's the whole reason I went. Not one fucking word, mind you.

Then more drinking of shit beer, until shot gun-stop watch man kicked everyone out. And everyone did leave all of a fucken sudden like. Except me and a few others who decided we weren't drunk enough yet.

I tried to take a bunch of pics, but they all turned out as shit as the time I had there so I'm not going to bother posting them.

In the final analysis, there was some rad books on show, good speeches, I met a few cool people, so why did I have such a shitty time? I think it was in part because the book I contributed to wasn't even mentioned. Not one fucking word, mind you. But mainly I think it's 'cause Loop is so terribly, terribly, fucking gay.

(Apologies if I got any of the other books names wrong.)

I don't really have anything important to say, but I really wanted to post something this week.

So here's a run down on what you can look forward to in the coming weeks.

This Thursday is the Yuck! #2 launch party at some place called Loop in the city somewheres. That should be good. I'm taking a camera, and libertys, so I'll let you know how that all turns out.

I was supossed to meet up with Dave and Haydes on the weekend but couldn't, so the FFFA #3 updates will have to wait.

Met up with James, and a cool cat by the name of Mike Nason for a Red Cordial meeting. Some big news there, but again you'll have to wait till I gots more to report.

So yeah, Yuck!, Red Cordial, and FFFA #3 have me pretty busy at the mo'.

Mo' next week...

Drawing porn is fun.

It sure is!

I’ve already posted about Red Cordial, a comic book I’m working on with James Andre, but for all ya’ll that don’t know - here’s a recap.

Red Cordial is written by James, drawn by me, and inked by some one else. At it’s core it’s a vampire story. Not your gay, goin’ out in the sun whenever I feel, pretty sparkly vampire bull shit, but a gritty rip your fuckin’ throat out and bathe in your arterial spray kind of vampire bull shit.

There’s also lots of other cool stuff like crazy hitmen, drugs, porn, drugs, porn... There’s lotsa drugs and porn.

Also James’s take on vampirism is new and interesting. Not gay and sparkley.

That picture above is from Red Cordial #1 page 2.

Punch you all in the face later. ;)

FIRE!

I finished my fucking comic book!!!!! No shit!! Twenty four fucking pages of art done! So technically the book's not completely finished. Still waiting on the Next Issue pic from Haydes, and there's the editorial, and title page to do. But fuck, for all intents and purposes - It's fucking done!!!!

Also doing a four pager for Yuck! number two. Still haven't seen Yuck! one yet. Another also, got asked by a guy who does a fanzine in Paris to do a page for his book. Cool huh?

Check it out fools:

TALES OF BUBONIC BOB PAGE 2!!!

Pencils by Dave Jarvis.
And check out this cool as fuck banner someone made for me!!

It's not official yet but I think this post has more exclamation marks than any post I've ever done before!

EXCLAMATION MARKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doing stuff is fun! :)

It's not really but I've been doing it anyway.

After a pep talk with one of my friends, (which was basically her saying stop being a little bitch and finish your fucking comic book) I stopped being a little bitch. I haven't actually finished it yet but I'm getting there.

So over the past two weeks or so I've been going silly-fucking-monkey-nuts, and I've got sixteen pages inked. Wierd thing is I'm not burnt out yet and the remaining nine pages are locked in my sights and I'm getting set to shoot those fuckers down.

Also been doing some work on the graphics for the MMO. Here's a mock up screen grab.

I've got most of the PC sprites done. Starting to do some NPCs and shit.

Another also been trying to finish the story for Tales Of Bubonic Bob. Getting there. Getting there. So I'm going to start posting the pages that have been done already in every post I do from now on.

Here's Page 1:

Until next time...

Pez Makes Me Happy.

A while back I was at some sort of party for some reason. My good buddy Dell was there and we got to talking about Pez.

Dell said she had about a million Pezs, and a fuck load of doubles that I could have. Now people say a lot of shit at parties so I never really expected to get any Pez. But Dell being a woman of her word, she turns up one day with this.

This unassuming little plastic bag contained the afore mentioned fuck load of doulbles.

Mmmm that’s good Pez. I don’t know exactly how many Pez was in there. I never got to count them because I was experiencing massive amounts of Pez bliss while I was rolling around naked in my new pile of Pez. There was also a Pez T-shirt and a movie in there too. A movie about Pez of all things.

PEZ!!!!!

I now have 170 Pez dispensers, and I can only hope that’s more than you’ve got. Needless to say Dell’s my new favouritest person in the world.

My old favouritest person in the world was Mark Lyn Baker. But he can go fuck a hat. Mother fucker never gave me any Pez.

PEZ!!!!!!!!!

After punch dancing out my rage...

In some vague attempt to get this blog back on a weekly schedule I’ve decide to write this post tonight. And cos it’s a week since my last post it ties in nicely to the ‘weekly post’ theme.

Been drawing heaps the past week. I’ve been asked to do more concept sketches for another game that’s in development. Even though most of these projects die in the arse after I’ve done about three sketches, these guys seem to have their shit together. Only time will tell if the game ever gets off the ground. Only time.

Also started on the character sketches for Red Cordial. Pretty psyched about this book. I’ve read all four parts of it now and it’s a fucking rad story. If you’re into drugs, vampires, and mobsters, then this one’s for you.

Lastly. Just cos I felt like it. Even though feeling like stuff generally makes me angry. I posted page 10 of Tales Of Bubonic Bob on ComicSpace. Though I couldn’t be fucked feeling like colouring the page, it’s up anyways.

Check it out. Enjoy.
http://www.comicspace.com/fffa/comics.php?action=read&file_id=236042

Until next week...

It was nothing like that, penis breath!

For some time now, and I don’t know what it is, I’ve been feeling all “fuck comic books”.

It might stem from getting an offer to do a six page story for an upcoming zine, finishing the six pager then losing one of the pages in a drunken rampage. I know that’s partially responsible for my current bad attitude, and added greatly to my comic burnout, but it’s not the whole of it.

And before anyone says something stupid like “comic books and booze don’t mix”, let me tell you they do. Booze mixes with everything. Ever heard of a mixed drink, fuck face?

Who knows maybe my lingering malaise is from the horrible head wound I suffered at the Stiff Little Fingers show a couple weeks back. It’s not. I just wanted to show you this rad photo of my brains. Thanks to Sarah ‘mooney moon moonster’ Mooney for taking this picture of the inside of my head.

Whatever it was, and this is my point, it seems to be gone now. I’ve been offered a chance to draw an awesome story called Red Cordial, I’m gonna finish that one page (again! Fuck you James!) for that six pager, and maybe just maybe finish issue 3 of FFFA.

Alright so I didn’t really have a point, I just felt like writing something.

A ComicSpace of my very own.

I’ve stated before just how much I loathe MySpace. I fucking hate it. Same goes for FaceBook too.

See the thing is, the other day I was going to update my shitty website. But for some reason I can no longer access my shitty website to update my shitty website. Then I remembered hearing about this ComicSpace thing, and fuck me ridged if I didn’t just go on and sign up right there and then.

The only problem I can see with this site so far is the over abundance of radness. It’s fucking everywhere. No shit. EVERYWHERE.

I highly recommend you check it out. Not only because all the new FFFA webcomics and bios, and everything else will be posted there, but because it’s a million-zillion-and-twelve free comics all for you.

Check me out ya’ll:
http://comicspace.com/fffa/

Ok. So here’s the rub. You have to sign up to see my comics because of the adult content. But fuck, it’s free, and unlike Facebook, and MySpace it’s not full of wankers showing you pics of themselves and their idiot friends, or paedophiles trying to trick kids into fucking them, no it’s full of rad comics.

There’s already extra content on there that shitty website does not possess. Shitty website should die.

Go take a look at ComicSpace..

These days it seems I can’t go to the pub, or a gig without having some motherfucker hassling me about when issue 3 is coming out. So in an attempt to prevent this I have been working on issue3.

Yes it’s true. This isn’t some in-really-bad-taste joke, or a dream sequence, or that old Zombie Monkeys ate my brain defence. No sir, I have done some work.

The proof’s in the pudding as they say.

Check out the first page.

Can you feel it? I can.

In semi-unrelated news:
Also been working on the sprites for the ORPG. Not as hard as I first thought, but still really fucking boring.

Check it.

All for now.

I FOUND MY NUTS!

For some reason I can’t seem to walk past a crappy knock-off toy and not buy it. Especially if that toy happens to be a knock-off of one of my favourite comic book characters, Wolverine.
By now everybody should be familiar with good ‘ol Wolvie. He’s been kicking ass and causing radness since the mighty Len Wein unleashed him on an unsuspecting world in the pages of Incredible Hulk #180 in October 1974.

This toy isn’t based on the super-fuckin’-rad comic book Wolvmeister but on the plain-old-rad movie version. Still with me? Righty-O, let’s take a butchers.

The box looks pretty slick, except it says “it is smart” no less than fifty eight times. It’s got some pics from the movie on it, and some text that I’m pretty sure is on the back of the DVD explaining who the X-Men are. But you can already see the toy inside that clever box aint quite right.

Eeewww. That tricksy box claimed it was smart, but it’s not. It’s pretty fuckin’ stupid. It’s made of this hard plastic and it’s hollow which makes it really light for it’s size, it’s real big, peoples . Though I gotta give it props for being able to stand up by itself. I really didn’t think it could. Toys always get extra points if the can stand up under their own power. It’s true. Google it.

Fuck if that isn’t a face only a mother could love. Looks like Jonathan Harris and Fred Schneiders gay retarded love child. What I think really happened is some enterprising huckster had the mould for an old wolf-man figure and thought it looked close enough to Wolvie to try and gouge some hard earned cash out of suckers like me. Hey it worked, more power them, but fuck it’s ugly. It scares me.

Ok so they forgot his claws but it’s not like that’s Wolvie’s trade mark or anything. You can tell the people who made this are real fans and put in a great deal of effort into staying true to the character because they included Wolverine’s blinding cock laser. I don’t know why they decided to put a bright red light in the toys crotchal area but they did, and I’m glad they did.

So it’s a shitty toy made from shitty material and has basically nothing to do with the character it’s claiming to be, but it can stand up by itself and it can shoot lasers out of it’s dick. I can only do one of those two things.

That’s all I got. Oh by the way my new favourite word is ‘ENDOSPERM’. I’ve no idea what it means but it makes me giggle.

A very Pezy Christmas.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted since June. Well actually I can. I can believe anything if I really want to.

Since the comic book still isn’t finished (gettin’ there, gettin’ there.), and there’s nothing really else to report I thought I’d show you a rad present I got for Christmas. Let’s have a look shall we? Let’s.

Check this shit out. It’s a Pez truck. Rad huh? But wait it’s also a tin, and it’s filled with little Pezs and a tiny dispenser.

See the baby Pezs come in little bags with a Christmasy motif. They even say XMAS BAG on ‘em.

The mini dispenser is fucking rad as. It has a little loop on top of his head so you can put some string on him and hang him off of your Christmas tree.

Look how cute the little Pezs are. That’s a baby one next to an adult one so you can see the size difference.

And the mini dispenser next to a normal dispenser for sizual comparisonation. The spell checker fucking hates me right about now.

Snatch ya later.

And the clock's ticking, dude...

It’s getting pretty close to DoujiCon time, and I still don’t got issue 3 finished. I just took a look at a calender and can’t for the life of me figure out how long it actually is till the 28th of July, but I think it’s roughly 5 weeks.

I really want to get it done so I can shill it at the con but I’m just sooo damn lazy it’s turning out to be a big ask.

Issue 2 came out in August 2006. That makes it nearly a whole fucking year that I’ve been putting off finishing this bastard.

Here’s a rundown of what’s in the book and what I’ve done so far.

Front Cover: Pencilled.

Inside front Cover: Not started.

24 Pages of Story: 19 pencilled.

Inside/Outside Back Covers: ??

The front cover’s half inked so that’s a start but I still have two pages of layouts to do. Hopefully Dave and Haydes can contribute something for the back covers but they’ve got work, and school and shit and sometimes it’s hard to catch up with them so that’s still up in the air.

So the plan now is to knuckle down and get this shit finished. No more booze ups and no more days off. With the exception of going to see Transformers, which may or may not turn into a booze up.

If worst comes to worst I’ll just knock up some unfinished Con- Special edition and charge extra for it.

In other news:
Didn’t win anything in the 24 hr comic challenge. That’s the way the cookie bounces.

Plus, I spoke to Dave the other day and he’s already started doing character sketches and layouts for the Uncle War Hero Gerbil story. Can’t wait to see what he comes up with.

Spiderman 3: Almost sucked.

I finally got ‘round to seeing Spiderman 3. I ended up going by my lonesome, like a Neville, because I was at Southland, and I figured if I don’t go see it now I’ll have to wait till it’s on DVD and then it wont be the same. I like to see the big comic book movies at the cinema with all the big screen, big noise shit.

To start off things didn’t go so good. First, it cost 15 bucks for the ticket. I could make my own fucking movie for that much scratch. Second, I got one of those big ass cups of coke, then spilt the whole lot after only two sips. Then I swore in front of a bunch of kids. That part was pretty cool though.

Then of course you have your four hours of ads and previews. Now I might be getting old, or whatever, but the Val Morgan ads just don’t seem to have as much punch as the old Pearl & Dean ads did. I didn’t used to mind sitting through hours of Pearl & Dean ads, but these Val Morgans just shit me. They had the Transformers preview, and I gotta say again that it looks fucking awesomely rad. I get the feeling that the story is going to be a great big pile of steamy ass vomit. But who cares. Giant transforming robots, dude! It’s funny that the spell checker thinks awesomely is a word, and I don’t.

Enough about Transformers. For now. So anyway, the movie finally starts (and I’m thirsty as hell staring at the big cola puddle in front of me) and then the opening credit sequence runs for a good five/six hours. They basically play the first two movies back to back. Fair enough they want to recap all the shit that happened before, but I got to go to work on Monday, I can’t spend all week watching the opening sequence!

Urgh! Now onto the movie. There was some cool shit in it, don’t get me wrong. They finally put Gwen Stacy on screen. Although I don’t think the girl playing her was a real blonde, and it wasn’t that kind of movie so I didn’t get to find out. The fight between Spidey and Harry Osborn was rad too. Then there was about three hours where nothing the fuck happened whatsoever. And the way the Symbiote was introduced was lamer than the whole Secret Wars thing.

Sandman was handled really well. Thomas Hayden Church, of Wings and Ned & Stacey fame, played him so good. They got the whole reluctant bad guy thing down. Then there’s Venom. Now I’ve been waiting since about ‘93 for Venom on the big screen. This was back when James Cameron was rumoured to be doing a Spidey movie. And I gotta say, they almost fucked it up. I mean, c’mon! How can you fuck up Venom? He’s only like the coolest modern Spidey villain ever. Topher Grace played Eddie Brock, and in all fairness he was pretty good. But then they go and give him fucked up fangs when he turns into Venom (not the fangs on the Venom mask, but when he’s Eddie Brock) and he couldn’t even talk properly with ‘em. Sheesh. But Venom did look pretty cool even though they did fuck with the costume design a bit. Cos you knew they would. These Hollywood fucks always gotta put their own little spin on things. Seriously, why fuck with a classic. Why dammit, why?

Some highlights were Petey P gettin’ his Saturday night fever on, the end battle, and basically all the bits where Spidey’s doing his web slangin’ thang. There was a point in the movies where I got to thinking that the writers must have had a bet to see how many different ways they could get MJ to storm out of a room, cos that’s basically all she does. And I know that a big part of Spidey’s appeal is all the everyday bullshit that goes on with him, but when that’s like three quarters of the movie it gets a bit like “okay we get it! Can we see some wall crawling now?” They seriously spent so much time fucking around with boring crap that the exposition for the final battle just seemed tacked on.

Stan Lee and Bruce Campbell had bigger roles than the previous movies. Stan stuck his big head in and dropped some wisdom on Pete and ended with “nuff said,” which was pretty rad. Excelsior! And Bruce was just great as the French waiter. That guy’s funny as hell.

Well this is probably going to be my longest post ever, and I’ve spent most of the time bagging the fuck out of poor ol’ Petey P’s movie but all in all it wasn’t that bad. Wasn’t that good either. It had a bunch of potential that it didn’t live up to. Wasn’t as good as the first or second movie either. But yeah, didn’t flat out suck. Almost sucked though.

23 hour 50 minutes Challenge!

I some how managed to avoid the pub last friday night and do the Comikaze 24 hr Challenge. I woke up early saturday morning and got all ready to go. The words that needed to be inserted into the story were - FLY, DANCE, and BOMB. They could be drawn in or part of the dialog or whatever they just had to be in there.

I learned a couple valuable lessons on doing a 24 hr comic, so next year I'll be coming loaded for bear, packin' heat and blah blah blah. More about this later.

This is my 8 pg entry, entitled "Fight Fight Fight".

This page Fighty says dance.

Got the word, 'fly', on this page.

It was this page that killed my Copic marker. Not much greys after this.

Got, 'bomb' in here. Twice. This is also where I fell asleep with a marker in my hand. See in the last panel all that blood on Grizzly's lower back and under his arm? I drew that while I was asleep. I'm that good.

So that's it. It took me 23 hrs and 50 mins to finish it. I think it's alright.

Here's what I learned from the experience:

1- Don't bother fucking around trying to write a story before you start drawing. I did and it almost fucked me. I was about four hours in before I started doing the pencils for the first page. Start drawing right from the get go. The story will come as you go along. Or isn't at all important, as some people showed, and their entries were fuckin' awesome too. So there.

2- Get two of everything you'll be using. My Copic marker shat itself, and having another would've been magic. Also stock up on cigs and whatever else. 24 hours is a long bastard time.

3- Doing finished inked art isn't important at all. Next year I'm gonna be all "fuck ink" an' shit. Just get it on page. And if you're scanning your pages you can adjust the darkness and all that crazy crap with PhotoShop or whatever you use. Nuts to you.

There's probably about ten million other dos and don'ts but I can't think of them right now. Or maybe I can. Maybe I just don't want to tell so you wont know what they are and I will and you'll fuck up next year and I wont. How's that grab ya.

To sum it up, it was tiring, and at points boring as Hell. But like Fighty said, you better fucking believe it was worth it.

I really don't think I have a chance of winning or even placing, but fuck me it was fun.

Here's all the other entrys. I think you need to be a member of the Pulp Faction forums to see the Mature entries, so suck it.

General: http://ozcomics24.com/2007_General

Manga: http://ozcomics24.com/2007_Manga

Mature: http://ozcomics24.com/2007_Mature

The mature entries weren't mature at all.
ComiKaze 24 Hour Challenge!!!

For those of you who haven't heard about this let me lay it down for you, old school.

Here's the skinny:
The ComiKaze 24 Hour Challenge is a contest for comicers. The idea is to make a comic book within a 24 hour period. You can use any medium you like. The goal is to pump out 24 pages in 24 hours. Though most people wont even be able to get anywhere near that kind of page count so there is an 8 page and 16 page category for the slow folk. There's whole bunch of rad prizes too.

I'll be taking part in the 8 page category. See what they do to try and prevent people from cheating and getting pages done before the contest starts is they post a bunch of random stuff on the Pulp Faction forums. There's stuff that you have to draw in somewhere in your story, and things that the characters have to say and crap like that. I'm gonna kick out a freestyle jam, so I've no idea at the moment what my story will be about or who will be in it. Alls I know at this point is that it'll be in my FFFA style.

Starts this Saturday, so register join in, have fun, kick some ass!

For my info check this shit out.
http://ozcomics24.com/

Screw you, Creepo.

I haven't got much news to report. The comics still plugging along slowly. I smashed up my hand pretty good at work last week, so that's kind of an excuse. But anyhoo.

Since there's no real news I'm just going to show off some artwork I had lying around. Ready?

Couple months back I got me some of those Copic markers. I can't really use em too good, colour's not my thing. I got a grey one though, so all FFFA books from now on will have the grey tones. Reprints too. Sweet.

This is a sketch Haydes did while we were sitting at the bar gettin' our drink on. I snitched it cos it was so rad. I thought I had a bunch more of Haydes's bar art, but I seem to have lost them. Haydes does his best work when he's half cut.

These are those sketches I'm doing for that fella whose doing the sprite for the RPG. You like?

Ok, I love ya, bye bye.

Dave found alive and well.

Caught up with Dave on the weekend. He handed over four more pages for the Bob story and as an extra bonus he gave me three pages of Captain Crab. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned Captain Crab before, but it’s a story Dave’s brother Leigh has been working on for a while. It’s a pretty rad little story about a crab super-hero who has beaten all the super-villains so he turns to the bottle. Once Dave finishes it up I’ll stick it on the website for all to gaze on in stupification.

And over on the RPG front, I’ve got this dude who’s a rad pixel artist doing the basic character sprite in exchange for some sketches I’m doing for him. If anyone’s ever tried doing pixel art they’ll know that it’s a massive head fuck. But once I’ve got this sprite I should be able to edit it to make all the clothes and crap for the characters. I’ll post it once it’s done.

That’s all for now.

In the name of science.

Since there's not much happening on the comic book front, I decided to do a little science experiment.

I GREW A DINOSAUR!!!!

Seriously, I did. I'm that clever. Check it out.

HOW I GREW A DINOSAUR.

This is how looked when I started. I believe it's some sort of Ankylosaur. That card beneath it says that it grows 600% bigger, but 600% bigger than pretty fuckin' small is still pretty fuckin' small. I put that twenty cent piece in so you can get an impression of the scale of the thing.

The first step was to put the little guy in water. So I did. On the back of that little card from the first picture it says it takes three days for the bastard to grow to full size. Three days! I'm so dedicated to science.

The next day I took this picture. You can't really tell, but it has grown. It was about this point that I got bored with the whole thing so there's no more pictures of it growing. I'm not that dedicated to science. Probably a good thing I stopped taking pics cos I suck hard at it.

Finally! That's not trick photography or some clever Photoshop bullshit, it's fucking huge! And that's the same twenty cents as the first pic, but that didn't grow or shrink or anything. Kinda disapointed in the coins performance. I don't know what that tiny dino's made of but I think everything should be made out of it. Everything.

So that's how I grew a dinosaur, and why issue three isn't out yet.

Interesting concept...

Kinda took the week off from drawing the comic book last week cos I got the first season of ALF, and I had to watch it before I did anything else. ALF was one of my favourite shows when I was a kid, and I just had to get the DVDs when I found out about them. I had this kind of dread in the back of my mind that the show might suck because I hadn't seen it since I was about eight or whatever, and over time peoples tastes tend to change. But lucky for me my tastes haven't seemed to have changed since 1987, and the show absolutley fuckin' rocks super ass. Love it.

I got the first season of the ALF Animated Adventures as well. That cartoon is really weird. It's set back on Melmac about a hundred years before ALF crashes into the Tanner garage. It also has another of my favourite theme songs. Haim Saban and Shuki Levy seem to have done just about all of the raddest themes for 80s cartoons. They did He-Man, and Ulysses 31, and Saban did Samurai Pizza Cats, MASK, Dino Riders, Dino-Suacers, and many more, they're just the ones I can remember right now.

I also got the first season of Fraggle Rock too.

So go teach your grandma to bite wind.

Ugh!

It's time once again to face the nightmare-Hell-toilet that is the working week. Fun fun fun.

Couple of news items to report:

First. Dave's officially MIA at this point. I don't know if his phone's busted, or something terrible has happened to him, or maybe I just said something really mean to him last time I saw him and I was to drunk to remember. It happens a lot. But since he's got the next three pages of the web comic, I'm going to put that project on hold for the time being. That doesn't mean we're going to stop making it. It just means I'm not going to put up anymore pages until we have a bunch of stuff finished, and then once again try for that elusive weekly release.

Second. A while back I told you about the MUD (Multi User Dungeon) game I was making for the FFFA universe. Thing is, the game building program was kinda hard to use, and I fucked it up, then the support website up and disapeared so I was left hanging with a game full of bugs. Good news is I found a new game building program with an active support community, and this one has pictures. So I 'll be plugging away at that pretty soon. Should be pretty cool, and I also know a fair few ways NOT to make an RPG now, so here's hoping.

Be good.
