    OMG! TMNT! WTF?

I saw the new Ninja Turtles movie the other other day, which they've decided to call TMNT. It's not only the best Turtles movie ever but maybe even the best movie ever. Ever.
It's seriously that good. It's so good in fact that even Leo is cool in this one! Hard to believe I know, but it's true.

I don't know if this movie is following the continuity of the current cartoon series or what, but it's set when the bros are a bit older. I'm not even entirely sure they're even teenagers anymore, in the new movie that is. In this one they've already kicked the Shredder's ass, and I've heard a lot of people complain that Shredder's not in this one, but let me tell you, Shredder isn't the only villain in the TMNT universe. It's like the Aliens franchise, y'know you can have an Aliens movie without Sigourney fucking Weaver in it. C'mon you guys! And the new villains are so fucking rad I'm all like, "Shredder who?"

Anyway. The TMNT movie is balls to the wall fucking awesome. The characterization of the bros is so spot on it almost hurts. Like I said Leo is cool. They've got him being the most ninjery of the four, and not just whinging like Chucky from Rugrats saying "I don't think this is a good idea, you guys," even though he does say shit like that from time to time. Donny and Mike, who are bit players - let's face it - in the whole Turtles milieu, have day jobs which are funny as fuck. And Raph, my boy, he's kicking more ass than ever and kicking it harder.

The showdown between Raph and Leo is so fucking rad I need to see it again. It's been a long time coming, since basically it's the main plot device from the first movie and the new cartoon. And it probably drove the earlier issues of the comic book, even though I have read them it was about twelve years ago so I can't remember all that much from them. I think it even gives a nod to Batman Begins, though I could be wrong, because I was in Turtle heaven the whole time the movie was playing, and the mind can play tricks when you're in Turtle heaven. You know what I'm talking about.

In conclusion: TMNT possibly the best movie ever. I'm going to see it again, and get all the toys, and get on DVD before and after it comes out. I think everyone who's ever had even a vague interest in the Turtles needs to see it, or forever be teased.

    I love being a turtle.
